Stirling Estate Chalets FAQ
How do we heat or cool our chalet?
May – September: Our passive solar design ensures that the chalets capture the winter sun. Open the curtains and let the sun in! Warm clothes and plenty of activity will keep you warm during the day.
September – April: Thanks to the passive design, simply opening the screened doors and windows in the afternoon lets in the sea breeze and keeps your chalet cool.
October – December: We suggest having warm clothing to hand for the occasional chilly evening. Our beautiful wetlands can harbour mosquitos. So, we also recommend keeping the bug repellent handy and wearing comfortable clothes that cover you sufficiently to protect against them outdoors. All our windows and doors are screened.
NOTE: There’s a total fire ban from mid-December to late March, so there are no fires or smoking on the property, please.
Are breakfast and bathroom basics provided?
The chalets are self-catering.
The nearest supermarket is IGA Fresh, four kilometres away in Capel. Woolworths is 16 kilometres away in Dalyellup.
You’ll find supplies of toilet paper, soaps, shampoo, and conditioner in both bathrooms.
We provide towels and bed linen.
If you’re staying for seven nights or longer, we can do a mid-stay clean. Otherwise, we ask you to take care of day to day tidying and cleaning during your stay.
Is there good mobile and Internet connectivity?
Stirling Estate is NBN connected, so we have WIFI connectivity. We provide this free-of-charge for guests in each chalet. Mobile phone reception is not a problem.
What can we do on the property?
Kids over five can play on the monkey bars, swings, and rope tower in our playground.
We’ve also built a mountain bike trail, and we offer high-performance buggy rides on the farm for guests aged fifteen and over.
The Capel River runs past your verandah. So fishing, canoeing, and bird watching are practically on your doorstep.
If you or your kids are keen on seeing what happens on a working farm, we can show you, time, and season permitting.
How many adults can stay in each chalet?
We’ve made the chalets spacious and comfortable for up to 10 adults. There are 4 bedrooms:
- 2 rooms with queen-sized beds
- I room with a king-sized bed or two singles
- 1 room with 2 single beds and a set of bunks
Do you accept group bookings?
Absolutely! Our chalets are perfect for organisations and groups keen to give their members a relaxing time and the chance to do any number of enjoyable, challenging activities. Our chalets are fully wheelchair accessible, so disabled groups can enjoy everything we have to offer.
What are your check-in and check-out times?
Check-in time is 3 pm and check out is 10 am. Our caretaker will meet you on arrival to hand over your keys and answer any questions. We do our best to be flexible. If you need to alter these times, let us know as soon as you can.
Can I bring my dog?
Sorry, we can’t accept pets at the moment. We’re working towards making it possible for you to bring furry family members from around June 2021.
Do you have a minimum stay period?
Our minimum stay is two nights.
What if I have to cancel?
All cancellations or rebooking will incur a $50 booking fee. Cancellations within 48 hours will incur the first two nights fee charged or held in credit for rebooking. Cancellations outside 48 hours will be refunded less the $50 booking fee.
If you have been diagnosed with Covid and can provide a doctor’s certificate, we will credit your charges to a future booking within 12 months. Otherwise, please refer to the above cancellation policy.
